Tie the Knot: Jade and Mark

By  0 Comments

Jade Crocker Keever was born and raised in Lake Wales, Florida. She attended Warner University, majoring in education, and works as an elementary teacher. She expresses her passion for music by singing in a band and playing guitar. “Mark is my best friend,” Jade shares. “He always puts me first.”

Mark Keever migrated to Florida from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He studied education at Florida Atlantic University and also works as a teacher.

Mark’s contagious smile was almost as successful as his Cajun cooking skills when mutual friends introduced him to Jade. He whipped up a pot of his famous gumbo, and once Jade tried it she was hooked.

Jade and Mark knew they would be married after seven years together. They actually went to pick out the ring together. After Mark bought it they went for a walk with their dog and he officially proposed.

The blissful couple tied the knot on October 4, 2014, accompanied by a wedding party of nine bridesmaids, nine groomsmen, a flower girl and a ring bearer. The outdoor ceremony in a grove of live oak trees draped with Spanish moss was lit with sunlight as guests arrived and took their seats. The bride wore a vintage gown and cowboy boots, and her loosely braided and curled hair was held in place by an embellished headband; the groom’s denim complemented her style perfectly. She carried a handmade bouquet of natural cotton adorned with special brooches from her grandmother that brought further sparkle and color to the navy and neutral color palette. Bridesmaids wore different styles of navy short dresses with their cowboy boots, and each carried a single sunflower.

Jade and Mark’s 150 family members and guests celebrated their happiness at the reception under a tent on the lawn. At the end of the evening, Jade, Mark and their guests lit wish lanterns into the night sky.

For their honeymoon, Jade and Mark spent the weekend in Orlando at a theme park, returning home to continue their lives in wedded bliss.
