The Little Moments

By  0 Comments

My wedding day seems like a lifetime ago and yet it feels like yesterday, all at the same time.

It’s funny the moments you remember.

I remember waking up the morning of my wedding day to see if my dad wanted to eat pancakes for an impromptu breakfast. I remember my sister working so hard to curl my hair for the perfect half updo. I remember my sister-in-law helping me put on fake eyelashes, for the first time ever. Pro tip: it’s not a great idea to try out on your wedding day.

It poured buckets of rain all morning the day of my wedding. We had planned an outdoor wedding along the beach. And then for just a brief moment the rain stopped. We all ran outside and the ceremony began. The sun peeked out of the clouds for literally one minute. It was so quick, but it made for one of the most spectacular sunsets I have ever seen.

I remember feeling so incredibly thankful for that day and our family surrounding us. But in all honesty, it’s hard to remember the little moments of the actual ceremony that I planned so many months for. It all went by so fast.

The same can be said about life. It all goes by so fast. It’s hard to believe that was ten years ago. My stepson is now an adult, and three little girls later I count my blessings every day.

It took a lot of planning and packing, but we decided to take a trip back to that same beach last year as a family to celebrate our ten-year anniversary. I see this picture today and it brings me so much joy. It wasn’t the beautiful scenery I will remember most, but the happiness in that moment we shared taking that picture. To all my brides-to-be this year, I hope you enjoy all your little and big moments!
