Trista and Scott Burroughs

By  0 Comments

Sixty-three percent of couples meet in cyberspace. That’s about 92,000 weddings created by Match.com, but Trista and Scott Burroughs are truly a one-in-a-million couple.

Trista Burroughs studied interior design and marketing at Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kansas. Raising kids, building her interior design firm and retail store, Motivo Designs in Overland Park, Kansas, loving her family and friends, donating time to community service projects, gardening, reading and living out her faith are among her passions.

Scott Burroughs has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville, Illinois. Scott’s passion for life is summed up in his love for family and friends, travel, church, music, guitar and community service. Scott and Trista reside in Overland Park, Kansas.

“Woman entrepreneur, mother of four amazing children and busy schedule was not exactly the perfect combination for a new relationship. After several failed attempts of trying to unsubscribe from Match.com, it actually became the best thing that could ever happen,” Trista relates. “I met my soulmate! Over a few years, online dating became less enticing to me. In fact, I would have told you it was a joke. That is, until I met Scott. We had both unsuccessfully attempted to delete our Match profiles, which ultimately led us to one another. We first started corresponding by asking each other how to get off the silly site! Chatter became more frequent and after a month of just talking, we spontaneously decided to meet. I had given up on the idea of a relationship anytime in the near future, as I had made my mind up to focus on my kids and my business; I thought our meeting would probably be a waste of a couple hours that I could be working. However, from the moment we saw each other, there was a connection, undeniable and irresistible! Scott’s humble, kind, loving and authentic spirit was something I had not experienced and was something I actually needed in spite of my determination to stay single. From the moment we met in person, his presence in my life brought so much meaning, clarity and balance. With him, I was more complete than without. I gained an amazing husband and also a beautiful stepdaughter.”

When Scott proposed during a limousine ride, their four girls held up signs reading “Will you marry me?” Following Trista’s enthusiastic “Yes!” the soon-to-be blended family shared dinner at Piropos in Briarcliff Village.

On June 21, 2018, the blissful couple tied the knot with their five children at their sides. Aly, 22; Connor, 18; Abby, 18; Mia, 13; and Corynn, 11, beamed as Trista and Scott took their vows.

Following the wedding celebration, Trista and Scott departed for an adults-only vacation at Secrets, The Vine in Cancun, Mexico.
