Tied the Knot: June 18, 2016

Taylor Berggren-Roesch, 25, graduated from Kansas State in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in dietetics. Taylor grew up in a military family and lived in seven different states before her family settled in Overland Park, Kansas, in 2002. After college, Taylor worked in a local pharmacy before opening KC Wine Co. with her family in 2015. Taylor works the farm as well as managing event coordination and winery operations. Taylor and Chris reside in Olathe, Kansas, on a farm near the winery.

Chris Roesch was born and raised in Beattie, Kansas. He graduated from Marysville High School in 2006 and went to North Central Kansas Technical College, graduating with an associate’s degree in networking and telecommunications. Chris furthered his education at Kansas State University with a bachelor’s degree in horticulture specializing in landscape design. Chris works as an irrigation manager for Ryan Lawn and Tree. Chris and Taylor have two dogs and a cat, Charli, Bandit and Dexter. Chris also spends time at the family’s winery doing irrigation and general winery and vineyard management.

Taylor and Chris share a favorite band, the Josh Abbott Band. They were at a band concert with friends when fate intervened and the two met.

For his proposal, Chris chose a romantic and familiar spot that has great meaning for the couple. “Chris and I own KC Wine Co.,” Taylor notes. “On June 19 of last year, the night before the grand opening, he took me out to dinner and we had a pre-opening celebratory glass of wine in the vineyard. Chris got down on one knee right in the vineyard! He even had a buddy in on it to take pictures!”

The blissful couple tied the knot on June 18, 2016, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Overland Park, Kansas. Taylor and Chris both had two of their best friends from high school as members of the bridal party. Following the formal wedding ceremony, family and friends moved to KC Wine Co. in Olathe, Kansas, for the reception, where everyone enjoyed barbecue, wine and all the festivities.

Taylor and Chris spent a week honeymooning in Aruba, enjoying the sun, sand and beautiful waters. ■
