B rittany Nicole Accurso, 27, is a graduate of Notre Dame de Sion High School and received her bachelor’s degree in psychology and master’s in social welfare from the University of Kansas. She works for Saint Luke’s Crittenton Children’s Center as a school therapist. Brittany and Christopher reside in Kansas City, Missouri.

Christopher Louis Accurso, 27, is a graduate of Rockhurst High School and received his bachelor’s degree in political science and his law degree at the University of Missouri, Kansas City. He is an assistant prosecuting attorney for Jackson County, Missouri.

Christopher and Brittany were high school sweethearts. They first met in eighth grade and dated throughout college and graduate school.

Christopher’s proposal to Brittany happened in one of their favorite vacation spots. On a trip to San Diego, California, he popped the question at the breathtaking Sunset Cliffs overlooking the ocean at sunset.

The blissful couple tied the knot on September 26, 2015. Brittany’s Maid of Honor was Sarah Koerper; bridesmaids were Caroline Strickland, Kathleen Bole, Danielle Roy, Angela Accurso and Gabrielle Accurso. Christopher’s Best Men were Anthony Accurso and Patrick Accurso; grooms-men were Garrett Cohoon, Dominic Defeo, Johnathan Pasternack and Jake Millett. Serving as ushers were Ross Miller, Eric Muehlbach, Kirby Campbell and Frank Altomare. Candle lighters Haleigh Johnston and Alexis Miller, flower girls Eisley Wheat and Loren Clarkson, and ring bearers Gavin Evans and Bennett Evans completed the wedding party.

The bride was resplendent in a breathtaking gown with layers of champagne hues and ivory French tulle overlays and an embroidered bodice detailed with hand-stitched Swarovski crystals. She carried a bouquet of ivory roses, hydrangeas, freesia, ranunculus, hypericum and stephanotis with dripping crystals.

The ceremony was held at the Redemptorist Catholic Church in Kansas City, which was decorated with shimmering candelabras wrapped in ivory roses and satin ribbons for the occasion. The traditional white linen runner that was draped down the church aisle was festooned with cascades of ribbons and tulle. The music of violins and trumpets filled the air. A special offering of roses was presented by the bride and groom to the Blessed Mother while the Ave Maria was sung in Italian by Mr. Walter Accurso. A reception followed the ceremony in the Grand Plaza Room at Grand Street overlooking the Plaza fountains with cocktail hour, then dinner and dancing. Extravagant tall trumpet glass vases of ivory roses and hydrangeas filled the draped tables as centerpieces. Family and friends enjoyed an evening of music and love as they celebrated with the bridal couple.

Brittany and Christopher enjoyed a honeymoon on beautiful Saint Lucia. HLM
