Spotlight on The Vein Doctor

By  0 Comments

That’s what many patients say after they’ve visited The Vein Doctor, located on the campus of Liberty Hospital, in Liberty, Missouri. Alarmed by stories about painful procedures from long ago, many have foregone treatment for their agonizing varicose vein issues. But you don’t have to suffer through treatment or symptoms any longer because exceptional improvements have been made. The Vein Doctor offers the most advanced techniques to treat painful venous disease and varicose veins, with cosmetic improvement for spider veins as well.

Experience and Technology

“We have ten years of history at The Vein Doctor,” said Emily McMahill, marketing director, The Vein Doctor. “Our state-of-the-art laser machines mean quick and effective treatment options. You’re in and out with positive results right away.”

At The Vein Doctor, Dr. Joe Caresio and Dr. Tim Raveill offer more than 20 years of combined experience in helping women and men achieve better vein health. They offer their patients the most innovative treatments available by performing endovenous laser surgery and micro-phlebectomies to treat varicose veins. Their extensive medical experience with the vascular system, ultrasound and catheter-based therapies, coupled with their board certifications as interventional radiologists, means The Vein Doctor offers the highest level of expertise for treating vein disease. “Our doctors are experienced interventional radiologists and bring a significant amount of skill and talent to you,” added Emily. “They are dedicated to providing the best care to each patient in a safe, friendly and confidential setting.”

What are Varicose and Spider Veins?

Venous disorders are suffered by about 80 million Americans, and some groups are more prone to have vein issues. Heredity is a main reason for vein disorders. Other factors include people who spend a lot of time on their feet, such as nurses, hairstylists, teachers and factory workers, as well as someone who has experienced a sudden weight gain or loss, such as women who are pregnant.

Varicose veins, many times bluish in color, protrude from the skin and frequently have a winding or worm-like appearance. They can cause throbbing pain and extreme discomfort, which can lead to serious problems if not corrected. Varicose veins can also indicate you’re at higher risk for other circulatory system disorders.

On the other end of the spectrum are spider veins. They’re small red or purple sun bursts or lines on the surface of the skin, appearing on the legs or ankles, and may itch. While they are not necessarily a health risk, they can be a cosmetic issue. When treated with sclerotherapy, the long-term results are effective. However, many times spider veins can be found with varicose veins, so having them examined should be considered.

Quick Treatment and Results

“At The Vein Doctor, procedures are minimally invasive, so you shouldn’t be frightened to come in,” noted Emily. “Treatments normally run 45 minutes to an hour and are performed in our office. Your down time is minimal.”

“I had the endovenous laser surgery on my right leg Tuesday afternoon and went to work the next day. My leg was a little sore but it was nothing that ibuprofen couldn’t take care of. The heaviness that I had every day was noticeably absent the day after my survey. I wish I had found The Vein Doctor earlier,” stated Mary Sue, a mother of two.

No Reason to Delay Treatment

Given that you don’t have to fear pain with your treatment, you also shouldn’t let financial concerns prevent you from addressing your vein issues. On your first visit to The Vein Doctor, a highly trained board certified vascular technologist will perform a complimentary vein screening using ultrasound to reveal whether there’s an underlying venous disease. Next, you’ll receive a clinical assessment to determine if your issue is a cosmetic issue or if it’s a vein disease and, if so, the severity of the disease. By listening to you and your concerns, the staff will work with you to develop a plan that’s designed to meet your expectations and deliver solid results. To enable even more patients to experience good vein health, The Vein Doctor has expanded its services and staff. Additional appointments are now available to fit your schedule.

To help you with payment for this treatment, the staff will contact your insurance company to determine how much of your vein management process will be covered. The Vein Doctor participates with Medicare and nearly all insurance companies. To ease your burden, the staff will make all the necessary contacts to determine your level of coverage.

When it comes to your varicose or spider vein issues, do it sooner rather than later. Don’t let fear prevent you from addressing your vein issues. The Vein Doctor will ensure you receive excellent care that’s delivered safely and comfortably with little down time. HLM
