Restoring Feminine Wellness…

The treatment involves radio frequency waves, using a probe to apply them to and under the skin to heat the surrounding tissue. The result is skin that’s potentially tightened and smoother. It takes 1-3 hours to complete. The treatment is very comfortable with minimal down time. It is performed under local anesthetic except when used on the external skin surface and for vaginal rejuvenation.

Science fiction? No. It’s ThermiRF®, available at Kansas City Dermatology.

Mark McCune, MD, is the founder and medical director of Kansas City Dermatology in Overland Park, Kansas, and has provided premier quality medical, cosmetic and dermasurgical skin care for almost 30 years in a confidential, safe, caring and relaxing environment. Dr. McCune and his staff offer the latest innovative procedures and treatments that are scientifically proven to be effective. Kansas City Dermatology is one of two offices in the KC metro with the equipment and skill set needed to offer the amazing ThermiRF procedures. Dr. McCune is also the physician trainer for physicians in the central Midwest who choose to learn these procedures.

Technology with Results

“We have several options with ThermiRF. One is ThermiTight™, a thermistor-controlled subdermal skin tightening,” revealed Dr. McCune. “The ThermiRF treatment is administered with a tiny SmartTip thermistor probe that’s inserted under the skin to heat subdermal tissues to a specific temperature that can produce immediate tightening. During the entire procedure, internal temperatures are monitored and regulated by the system’s computer. In addition, thermal image guidance provides me with real-time external temperatures to ensure precision of the heating effect while maintaining safe skin temperatures. This maximizes safety, enhances clinical outcomes, and minimizes risk.”

The process is simple and the procedure takes 1-3 hours to complete. After the treatment, a wrap is applied to the area. Patients may experience minimal bruising, and swelling can last for three to seven days and be enough to interfere with work and other activities. Patients may resume normal activity within a few days after the treatment. “This is an absolutely amazing procedure usually delivering good to great results for my patients with immediate response,” noted Dr. McCune. Kansas City Dermatology also offers ThermiSmooth™, used to tighten skin around the eyes, mouth, and cheeks. Treatments are producing positive and encouraging results.

Restoration with Comfort

A third treatment option is called ThermiVa™, which uses radiofrequency energy to gently heat tissue to reclaim, restore and revive feminine wellness without discomfort or down time. ThermiVa uses a special wand applicator that is applied externally to labia and vulvar tissues and internally to the vaginal wall to restore normal tissue tone and function.

“Excessive stretching of the vaginal muscles and tissues is a common occurrence after vaginal birth and can come from the aging process as well. The resulting damage can diminish sensation during sexual activity, reduce satisfaction, produce undesirable appearance of the external genitalia, and change the relationship between partners,” noted Dr. McCune. “But the ThermiVa process can tighten and rejuvenate those tissues with comfortable, in-office treatments.”

In addition, the ThermiVa system can be used to treat bladder leakage and stress incontinence that many women experience after having children or as they age. It is characterized by unanticipated and unavoidable urine leakage with laughing, coughing, sneezing and certain physical activities. A specially designed handpiece is used to comfortably deliver radiofrequency energy inside the vagina to rejuvenate atrophic tissue and other structures. ThermiVa treatments have been proven to improve vaginal lubrication, leading to more comfortable and pleasurable intercourse. As an added bonus, increased sensitivity can enhance orgasmic response.

ThermiVa’s unique patented technology means no surgery, no down time and no anesthesia. Treatment consists of three, 30-minute sessions about one month apart. Noticeable improvements can be realized after just one or two sessions. In fact, women may resume sexual relations the same day or night, and the results are long lasting.

Personal, Expert Attention

Dr. McCune personally performs the vast majority of dermasurgical and cosmetic procedures offered at Kansas City Dermatology. If any tasks are delegated, they are carried out under his close supervision “There are many skin care facilities that provide skin treatments and surgical procedures performed by non-physician personnel that are ‘supervised’ by physicians. Many times these individuals have no or very little training in dermatology or dermasurgery,” noted Dr. McCune. “In fact, the supervising physician may not be located anywhere close to the facility and may be treating patients in an office across town, in a local emergency room or performing surgery in another surgical facility. It’s my belief that you deserve to be treated by a highly qualified, expertly trained and experienced physician who understands the technology and knows how to treat any complications that may arise.”

For treatments that are innovative and current, call upon the expertise, experience and knowledge that Dr. Mark McCune and his staff offer. “When it comes to looking your best, who wants science fiction? At Kansas City Dermatology, proven and effective procedures and technologies are delivered by experts in the field to give you the best chance of a favorable and positive result. This is our past, present and future promise to you,” affirmed Dr. McCune. HLM
