From hosting spectacular weddings to celebrating the Kentucky Derby, raising money for charities, hosting a “Girls Night Out” shopping experience or presenting a team building exercise for a corporate event, the venue has to be perfect to get the most out of your special occasion. To achieve the utmost memorable experience, there’s no better place than Longview Mansion.

Only 20 minutes from Kansas City, Longview Mansion is a full-service operation with guests enjoying full-time coordinators, an on-site chef, ample parking and rooms with historical character. Tucked away on a private spot of ten acres, Longview Mansion provides guests a distinctive venue with a fountain garden, large porches, fireplaces, grand entrance columns and a double staircase that you would expect to find in a mansion. It is suited for intimate gatherings or the venue can host parties for up to 300 people.

Attention to Detail
“At Longview Mansion, we have an extraordinary place to host extraordinary events,” noted operator Jeanne Marshall. “We are a family owned business that is very hand’s on. We are professionally and personally involved with each event. For us, exceptional service is our number one competitive difference.”

The renovated mansion was the country estate of Kansas City lumber baron and philanthropist R.A. Long and his daughter, Loula, until the early 1970s. The mansion was the jewel of the property that once featured 50 buildings. The 22,000-square-foot home is a historic treasure that’s one of Kansas City’s premier event facilities.

“For a business conference or recognition event, Longview Mansion is the best choice for your offsite gathering.” In addition to weddings, hosting one of a kind corporate events is another Mansion speciality. The privacy and uniqueness of this venue make for memorable meetings. The friendly, comfortable feel of the gracious home and grounds transfers a feeling of openness that makes participants feel comfortable while executing business at hand.

For business events, Longview Mansion offers incredible charm, character, service and a complete personalization of the food menu, allowing a client to make his or her affair a special one. The event planners, each with more than ten years of experience, are responsible for all of the logistics such as table décor, seating arrangements and audio/visual setup. They will serve as the point persons for every setup contractor, taking the burden of the details off your shoulders.

Customized, Flexible Plans
“We have a pavilion that we can arrange to meet the needs of your business event. If your conference requires round tables or theatre seating, we can accommodate it,” noted Jeanne. “The mansion offers five rooms for break-out meetings with easel and flipcharts available. The ten acres surrounding the mansion will give you ample room to facilitate team activities such as scavenger hunts, water sports, balloon tosses, marathon races, croquet, badminton and many other outdoor sports.”

When you book a multi-day conference with Longview Mansion, all of the facilities are yours to use and room setups can be left for the next day without worry that something will be moved or left out of place. Neighboring hotels, just a few miles away in Lee’s Summit, work with Longview Mansion to offer exceptional packages to complement your event.

Share With the Ladies
But don’t think that it’s all work at Longview Mansion. Jeanne reports a growing trend in Girls’ Night Out shopping events. The organizers bring in special vendors, focused on jewelry, clothing, essential oils and more, who set up booths in the Mansion for a private, three-hour shopping extravaganza. “One of our clients spearheaded the event and contracted with the vendors to offer their items for sale. Then she invited friends and family via social media. It was a huge success,” commented Jeanne. “It’s a very interesting trend we’re seeing at Longview Mansion. The ladies want the social experience and to enjoy our bar service, while chatting with friends and shopping. At least once a month, we’re the venue for this type of event.”

While weddings continue to be the bulk of the bookings at Longview Mansion, other types of get-togethers are also growing. Musical productions such as a salute to moms on Mother’s Day and theatre events, including the ever-popular murder mysteries, continue to expand. “We also see clients hosting milestone events such as birthday bashes, rehearsal dinners, baby showers and engagement parties,” stated Jeanne. “We’re very willing to work with them to personalize their get-together.”

Whether it’s celebrating one of life’s milestone moments, raising money for charity, making improvements to a business or just having fun, Longview Mansion is the place for you. Customization is no problem at this family-owned business, and Jeanne and her staff look forward to making your special occasion the best ever for you. ■
