Michael J. Nolte’s Wonder-Filled Weddings: A Guide to a Perfect and Personal Event

By  0 Comments

How to Deal with the Church Ladies” is one of the intriguing chapters of the latest revealing publication, Wonder-Filled Weddings: My Life as a Planner, by Leawood, Kansas, entrepreneur Michael J. Nolte.

In 192 pages of inspiring ideas and images, Nolte shares his back story in his nearly four decades as wedding planner extraordinaire to Kansas City brides. “I wish I had included a highlighter with every purchase,” Nolte said. “Different colors would help the parents of the groom, parents of the bride and, of course, the couple themselves. There is solid, never-before-found help for each of those readers. I want them to mark it up and use it as a road map into the land of wedding planning.”

Nolte enjoys wearing the hats of couture retailer, wedding planner, gown designer, speaker and now published author. Nolte’s Bridal has been considered the high-end boutique of our community since Hawthorne Plaza was built in 1992.

Wonder-Filled Weddings is unique as the only wedding book available from a Midwestern wedding planner, and it’s very relevant to our area,” he said. “It’s an interesting read even if you don’t have a wedding in your family.” Reader and reviewer Janet Jacobs noted, “This book will be my go-to engagement and shower gift for every bride I know! I would never have considered 99 percent of the advice I read.”

With almost 1,100 weddings to date, Nolte laughs when he says, “I’ve been privy to every detail, drama and dysfunction in wedding planning you can imagine. It’s a time of great happiness, anticipation and stress for every family. The sense of my working ‘for’ them quickly evolved into working ‘with’ them. It’s always an honor to play a part in such an important event. No longer can people say, ‘You should write a book!’ because now I have!”

With a daughter recently married, he delayed the book’s release to include the last chapter, “P.S. 10 Lessons I’ve Learned as Parent of the Bride!” “The book has been flying off the shelves and Amazon since it was released six months ago,” Michael noted. “It’s full of photos that are inspiring, educational and entertaining, but the real value in the book is in the written word. People enjoy it from dust jacket to back cover.”

As 2018 opens, he finds himself headed out of state frequently to coordinate weddings everywhere, but he prefers to work with his A-list vendor team here in Kansas City. Indeed, most of the featured weddings are in KC venues. A holiday vacation to Vienna brought him home with new inspiration for designs and grand themes for some amazing weddings this year. Some of these new wonder-filled concepts will be introduced at his next seminar, Wedding Planning 101, a don’t-miss evening for engaged couples and their parents.

Wonder-Filled Weddings: My Life as a Planner is published by Walsworth Publishing and available on Amazon and local bookstores. Copies are available at Nolte’s Bridal and can be signed by the author.
