Crystal Burchfield and Homestead on the Hill: Expanding Others’ Dreams

By  0 Comments

Do you wake up each day knowing that you are fulfilling your purpose? Crystal Burchfield, co-founder of Homestead on the Hill, does, and she wants to ensure you have the tools to do so as well. She is investing time to empower people to live abundant and purposeful lives. She leads by example and speaks from her heart.

Crystal and her husband, Verick, founded Homestead on the Hill, focusing on using Young Living Essential Oils. Over the past year, Crystal has increased her presence at speaking and webinar engagements and continued to grow leaders, and she is presently writing two books, all while ensuring that her four children and her marriage continue to thrive.

Family Focus

As a dual-entrepreneur family, the Burchfields manage their daily tasks and keep the fire alive in their marriage by maintaining a deep commitment to one another and to seeing their dreams lived out together. Verick, formerly head of an emergency room, retired from his career as a nurse practitioner to homeschool their children and to grow the family business with Crystal. Through periodic travel around the world with Young Living, they enjoy and continue to build relationships with their leaders. Their family embraces a lifestyle that is focused on their faith, a wellness journey, building relationships and helping others.

One of the couple’s volunteer initiatives is educating others about Hope for Justice, a nonprofit foundation focused on ending human trafficking. Last fall, Crystal and Verick opened their backyard to Hope for Justice in a Home Experience where area abolitionists gathered to hear Grammy award winning artist, Brandon Heath.

Creating Freedom for Others

For several months, more than a thousand friends and Young Living leaders participated in the Burchfields’ fundraising efforts. Events, an online auction, the Home Experience and a marathon run by Verick raised more than $54,000 for Hope for Justice.

“We feel that we’re supposed to raise awareness and funds so that we can help the nearly 21 million men, women and children trapped in this inhumane way of life,” stated Crystal. In early 2016, Crystal and Verick will travel to Cambodia, an area hit hard by human trafficking. “They’ll be visiting Hope for Justice’s restorative care home and spend time with those who have been rescued as well as the staff and the directors of the program. “It is humbling to be able to go and see firsthand those we have been working from here to help. Though the journey is far, we know this is an important step for us to take,” Crystal said. Upon returning home, the couple plan to continue the fundraising efforts and Verick will receive more training so he can help educate healthcare workers.”

Natural Products

Their work with Hope for Justice and bringing freedom and a new way of life are natural ties to her Homestead on the Hill concept and use of Young Living products. She champions the removal of toxins from the home found in cleaning products that most people use every day and moving back to nature. Crystal has found one natural product offered by Young Living Essential Oils and has replaced every commercially produced cleaner in her home. Her goal is to connect with people and inspire them on their wellness journey.

Her concept of Homestead on the Hill focuses on building better lifestyles and using only necessary essentials. It’s broken down into three key areas: homesteading, homeschooling and home remedies. She offers pathways to follow and key tenets about her Homestead on the Hill movement through her blog and website at homesteadonthehill.org. Gardening, bee keeping, chickens and more keep the family busy and pulling together to grow their knowledge of homesteading.

Wellness, Purpose, Abundance

“When we first began looking at the freedom that comes from living this type of life, we knew there would be hard work but didn’t realize just how rewarding it would be. Now that we’ve experienced it, Verick and I have such a passion to help others,” she shared. “We love seeing others step out and enjoy a purpose-filled wellness journey and the financial freedom that can come with it.”

Whether it’s opening up their homestead for a fundraising event or offering outreach and coaching to those who desire to break the bonds of a toxic lifestyle, or traveling across the world to encourage victims and learn more about this cause of freedom they care so deeply about raising awareness and funds for; the Burchfields are at the ready to help those in need. It truly comes down to the importance of walking out your journey each step forward as it unfolds. HLM
