Highpointe Financial Group: Stephanie W. Rothermich, CLU, CFBS

By  0 Comments

HighPointe Financial Group financial advisors are helping multiple generations accomplish their financial goals through life’s many milestones.

Stephanie W. Rothermich, CLU, CFBS, has spent the last 30 years advising clients and acting as their advocate. She credits flexibility as the factor that drove her to enter the financial services industry. “I knew I wanted to have my own business and focus on my family, so when I originally started, that was my quest.”

As a Charter Life Underwriter (CLU) and Certified Family Business Specialist (CFBS) designee, Stephanie assists small businesses and medical practices in the Columbia, Missouri, area. “An important part of what I do is working with business owners and helping them with succession planning.” She helps develop strategies to reflect goals and help lead to the path, or end zone, of success. “I’m kind of like a quarterback,” she said. “I help business owners by communicating and bridging relationships between their accountants and attorneys.”

Stephanie’s top priority is to ensure the client’s best interest is always put first. She explained that while the financial services industry is lacking female advisors, women are often sought out due to their natural traits. “I find that people trust us and open up to us more,” she said. “Our motivation is to help people first. As women, we have nurturing qualities. I feel that clients can sense that we have their best interest at heart.”

How does HighPointe Financial Group help ensure that the client’s needs are met? “We look at their situation globally and use comprehensive planning. I’m a planner, not a salesperson,” Stephanie affirmed.

The highlights of her job include initial meetings with clients, acting as their educator and helping them establish plans that reflect the priorities they have for themselves. “A lot of my clients are the same age as I am, so their kids are going to college. The plans we set up for them 20 years ago are being implemented and we get to see those goals come to fruition firsthand. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing those plans become reality.”

As an experienced financial advisor, Stephanie knows that money is a sticky situation. “At some point, we all realize life isn’t perfect. There are scary parts of planning that we don’t want to face,” she said, referring to unexpected issues such as becoming disabled and death. “But we can face them together. We’re here to help people and their families through those trying situations.”

More than 30 years ago, Stephanie set out to develop a flexible career that allowed her to focus on her family and do what she loves most: helping people. She has accomplished both through financial planning. “I do this because I love it,” she said. “It’s not really a job, it’s just a part of who I am; nothing is more rewarding than helping my clients attain their financial
goals.”
