Trevor & Stella

By  0 Comments

Stella Yi and Trevor Wirsig met online and before their first date realized that they both had a sense of humor and could feel comfortable with each other. Stella, Trevor and their dog, Murphy, were hiking on the day that he had planned to propose. “We were hiking in Evergreen when Trevor suggested we get an epic slowmotion video of Murphy running up the mountainside in a very Homeward Bound-esque fashion,” Stella laughs. “I absolutely loved the idea so he had me stay at the top and took Murphy down the hillside with him. I heard his voice down below cueing me to start rolling while calling Murphy’s name. I called for Murphy and he came running up the hill wearing a dog tux. I was slightly confused until I saw Trevor following behind him holding the sign Murphy managed to tear off on his way up. The sign read, ‘Mom, will you marry Trevor?’ It was perfect!”

The blissful couple tied the knot on December 27, 2015, at Mile High Station in Denver, Colorado. AttendingStella as Maid of Honor was Michelle Yi; Chad Wirsig served as Best Man. The bride was elegant in a strapless gown with shirred bodice and chiffon skirt overlay; she carried a bouquet of white roses, larkspur and ferns hand-tied with a red ribbon that coordinated with her groom’s bright boutonniere of red and white roses. Seasonal accents of red poinsettias and the candle-lit aisle created a luminous atmosphere as she was escorted by her father.

“Praying together before our first look was powerful and my favorite moment of the entire day,” Stella shares. “Before I heard any compliments on how I looked or exchanged excitement about our big day, I heard the sincere prayers of a man who wanted to do right by God in our marriage. I heard him ask for wisdom to be the best husband he could be. There was nothing that could have given me more confidence in my decision to commit the rest of my life to him than hearing his prayers at that moment.”

Stella and Trevor planned an intimate wedding with 60 guests. “Every single person at the wedding was someone very important to us, someone we knew we’d do our very best to maintain a relationship with for the rest of our lives,” the bride and groom share. “So to have every individual we love so dearly there helped create the personal and intimate atmosphere we wanted. Everyone enjoyed the reception, and thanks to our planning and great DJ, our guests had zero reservations breaking it down on the dance floor.”

Stella and Trevor will honeymoon in Hawaii in June of this year. HLM
