Kate and Brian Fuso

Tied the Knot: March 18, 2017

Kate (Tscharner) Fuso grew up in Lodi, California, graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and she now works for an organization that represents farming and ranching families throughout California. In her spare time, she enjoys being outside water skiing, fishing, golfing or riding horses. She also loves spending time with her family, friends and the couple’s dog, Rusty.

Brian Fuso also grew up in Lodi and graduated from Fresno State University; he has returned home to the family farm, where he grows wine grapes. When he is not farming, Brian spends his time fishing, hunting and water skiing. He enjoys spending time with his friends and family on quiet, relaxing weekends.

Kate and Brian originally met in high school, but they started dating after their return home from college. A mutual high school teacher of theirs asked if they could help at a fireworks fundraiser booth, and a spark ignited between them!

Brian proposed overlooking Emerald Bay at Lake Tahoe. There was a small place to turn off the road, which made it a very private, intimate setting. Brian wanted to take a picture of Kate with the lake in the background, so he went back to the truck to get the camera and the ring. He then returned, popped the question and without hesitation, Kate said yes!

The blissful couple tied the knot March 18, 2017, in an afternoon ceremony at the Episcopal Church of St. John the Baptist. Kate’s Maid of Honor was Michelle Jimenez; bridesmaids were Leslie Friend, Christie Fuso, Taylor Serres and Catharine Perry. Michael Fuso served as Best Man; groomsmen were Andrew Schmierer, Josh Hagen, Brandon Longstreth and Derek Blevins. The bride’s beaded, strapless gown was set off by a hand-tied bouquet of brilliant red roses; the bridesmaids’ bouquets of white roses complemented the tablescapes of orchids, roses and hydrangeas, echoed by the fresh flowers ornamenting the elegant bride’s cake.

Kate and Brian honeymooned at the Sandals Grande Resort on the island of St. Lucia. ■
